we currently do not have any dump service and implementing one would take quite some work.

the resulting is very complicated to use and only has very limited practical use since it is missing a lot of meta data which is in other files or not available. for example: images will in a different file than the pages. the categories in another one and all redirects also.

the wiki can NOT in any case 'remove' or 'drop' gta01 related documentation anyways.
the devices are out there.
people are using them and will continue to do so.
any documentation written for gta01 in needs to be kept. it can (and should) be updated or corrected if new informations come up, but not removed.
we are not n*kia!
we do not deny existence of old product or remove them from our only documentation base.

of course gta02 will be linked more prominent, but anybody who gets a old gta01 device into their hands needs to find all available documentation in the wiki, even when we have released gta02 or in the future gta03 or gta04.

by the way. online information is 'free' anyways.

Can you do the dump data before 2008?
Or we can't have this kind of service for them?

dump data before 2008??
it is 2008.
so to dump the database before i would need a time-machine.
sorry, i do not understand that question.

I mean, they want to use wiki offline. Becasue wiki is growing up everyday. They want to backward the database to Jan, 1 2008. Professor want to use the old one.
But now , they convince them to use other meterial.

But we still can provide offline database .(dump)
Like this.

Read wiki offline

Dear all,

Hi guys

The "XML Dump" mentioned in the following URL might a good one for resolving this case.
"XML dumps contain the content of the wiki (wiki pages with all their revisions), without the site-related data (it does not contain user accounts, image metadata, logs, etc)"
http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Backup
seems no extension needed to be installed, sounds good isn't it?

After dumpping the wiki, we might release it with date, therefore "school's teacher in Taiwan" are able to use them offline.

Of course they need some kind of offline reader like wikitaxt(I am not sure if this working for mediawiki or not).
The good news is there are lots searching results from google.

Note: See TracTickets for help on using tickets.
