can't ssh into git.openmoko.org

Reported by: charlie Owned by: roh
Priority: high Component: git.openmoko.org
Keywords: ssh Cc:

Description

When I try :

ssh git@git.openmoko.org

I get the following error :

PTY allocation request failed on channel 0
ERROR:gitosis.serve.main:Need SSH_ORIGINAL_COMMAND in environment.
Connection to git.openmoko.org closed.

It used to work before.

I am not sure if the problem comes from the server or from my ssh configuration.

generic shell access to git.openmoko.org isn't available anymore.

the account git@ it is limited to git access with users via gitosis now.

what are you trying to do?

if you need a repository added or something similar i would need the the name, description and a list of users which should have write access to it.

OK I see.

I wasn't trying to do anything in particular actually, I was having problem with an other ssh server and to make sure my key and everything was correct I tried to ssh into git.openmoko.

Thanks,
gui

This is more of a problem for me, I have a README.html in the kernel repo that I need to update from time to time.

Is there a way for me to push that? Until now I login by shell and edit it.

Is scp still allowed even if there's no shell?

andy; could you check in that README.html somewhere (best) toplevel in the kernel repo, then, i'll symlink it down to the tree where gitweb searches for it.

thats the same way gitosis does it with its own configfile (which is in git also)
scp doesnt work since the command executed by sshd is "gitosis-serve $USERNAME" depending on which key is used.

would that (symlink) be a workable solution for you?

It sounds like it can be a solution, but is it possible for me to define the branch it would live on? Master is special for us and I don't want to contaminate it.

If so, email me /var/cache/git/kernel.git/README.html and I will commit it in the top level of a branch and specify what that is.

good question. on gitosis-admin there is only one branch

i dunno git well enough, but every file i could reach via fs in the repo without special things like 'hooks doing a checkout' or so is fine.
